Charities Review Council Honors One Percent Club Member with Leadership Award

The Charities Review Council is honoring Mike Ducar, One Percent Club member and former Council board member, with the Leadership Award on June 17 at its Annual Forum. The Leadership Award is presented to someone who has provided exceptional leadership to the Charities Review Council or significantly advanced accountability within the nonprofit sector.

Mike is an advocate for accountability with the many nonprofits he's involved in, guiding them to the Council's Accountability Wizard – an opportunity for nonprofits to align their policies and practices with accepted standards. Mike also made the lead gift in the Council's first challenge grant, helping it gain the support it needs to do its work.

This year's Annual Forum "Accountability: Now More Than Ever" will also unveil the Charities Review Council's new draft Accountability Standards, kicking off a three-month public comment period. Guest speaker, Phil Buchanan, president of Center for Effective Philanthropy, will address the need for foundation and nonprofit leaders to increase their effectiveness and become more accountable.
